Farmers Online Market pays courtesy visit to Nassarawa State Agriculture Ministry

Farmers Online Market in a courtesy to the Ministry of Agriculture, Nassarawa State sort for a bilateral relationship between the organization and the ministry, stressing that FOM with the ministry's support will help to train and empower the farmers in the State and also help to market their produce.
Elaborating on the strategies to empower farmers the MD/CEO Comrade Stephen Madukotated that, FOM would train farmers in branding and packaging and also help market their produce and as such giving them market. He said, “Nassarawa State is strategic in agricultural activities in the country that's why we had come to cement a relationship between us and the ministry so we could help train and empower your farmers".
Also emphasizing on how FOM would help alleviate poverty from the State, the Director, Media Freda Okhiria said “with our target of creating 2 million direct jobs and 20million indirect job, we hope to raise agents in the state that would be trained into being an entrepreneur and create wealth for himself. The agent who would in turn register the farmers would be supported by the organization to organize training For farmers, this would help empower and re-brand farmers produce and make their produce accepted both nationally and internationally.
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Aliyu A. Agwai, accepting this initiative in good spirit and immediately requested the Director PRS, Umaru Hassan to organise and assemble relevant agricultural association in the state for a meeting. According to him “ Director, please assemble Nassarawa Agricultural Development Projects, NADP, All farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Sellers Association and other related bodies for a meeting on 8th March, 2016”.
In the closing remarks, The Director, Admin Chief Moses Obiora, appreciated the ministry for the reception of the initiative received so far and promised to carry out the promises made so as far to empower the farmers in the state.
